Village life can mean a quiet haven in which to relax, or a vibrant, intimate community in which to live.  For many, community is based on the institutions of church, school, pub and shop. 

Eight local villages have thriving primary schools that are part of the Chipping Norton Schools Partnership, which includes the 'Extended Schools' programme which enables many community activities.  Other individual features of villages include -

Hook Norton Brewery - one of the few remaining family run breweries, and the home of 'Hooky'

Kingham - voted England's Favourite Village by Country Life

Enstone - home of the Renault Formula 1 team, among others

The Rollright Stones - mythical ancient stone circle near Great and Little Rollright

Chadlington - vibrant networks that stage a variety of events; often fund raising, always well attended

Chastleton House - National Trust attraction, home to one of the Gunpowder plotters

Daylesford Organic - a farm shop that's like a 'Harrod's in the country'
