The Chipping Norton News is a non profitmaking newspaper run by a volunteer team aiming to encourage a sense of community by publishing regular news and acting as a forum for discussion. We aim to be impartial, interesting and accessible to all reflecting a broad range of local opinion and views. The Chipping Norton News is published monthly (except January and August) by the Chipping Norton News Club which is voluntary and non profit-making.
The Chipping Norton News was launched over 30 years ago and has been run by successive teams of local volunteers relying heavily on the input of the readers they serve. The current team took over in November 1999 and in December 2009 celebrated producing their 100th edition (out of a total of 323) of the News. Team meetings are held monthly in the Barn of the Chequers, Chipping Norton and new members are extremely welcome. There are a range of activities to get involved in from proof reading and distribution, to writing news stories and profiles. Contact Club Secretary Jill Thorley (details below) if you'd like to know more.
Copies of the News can be bought from outlets in the Town and local villages or subscribers paying £15 a year can be sent copies through the post.
