Chipping Norton is well served by buses. Links to timetables for all these buses are in the panel below.

S3: Chipping Norton to Oxford

This is the service down to Oxford, via Enstone, Kiddington, Woodstock and Yarnton. The travel time is 50 minutes to an hour, and the service is hourly through the day.

X8: Chipping Norton to Kingham Station

The X8 is the Railbus to Kingham station. It is timed to meet most trains throughout the day, Monday to Saturday. Late evening trains are not met, and there is a bit of flexibility built into the timetable to allow the bus to wait for the last train of the day if it is 15 to 20 minutes late.

Number 488: Chipping Norton to Banbury

This is the service to Banbury, via Over Norton, Great Rollright, Hook Norton, Milcombe and Bloxham. A few of the daily services also go via Wiggington and South Newington. There is no Sunday service on this route. The bus takes a meandering route through the back roads and villages, and if you are not in any hurry is a charming way to get to Banbury and see the surrounding country.

Number X9: Chipping Norton to Witney

This bus travels  beween Chipping Norton and Witney via Chadlington, Spelsbury, Charlbury, Fawler, Stonesfield, Combe, Finstock, Ramsden and Hailey. There are regular servcies through the day Monday to  Saturday.

Number 50: Chipping Norton to Stratford-upon-Avon

There are a few buses between Chipping Norton and Stratford - enough to give you four or five daytime hours in Stratford for shopping and sightseeing. The service runs Monday to Sunday.

Oxford Tube: Oxford to London

This is the service from Oxford to Central London. there are coaches hourly through the night and up to every 12 minutes at times through the day. The travel time  is around 100 minutes, longer during rush hours.

C1 Charlbury Railbus

This bus travels between Charlbury Station and Charlbury Town, Shipton-under Wychwood, Ascott-under-Wychwood, Leafield and Finstock. It is timed to meet some of the London and Hereford trains - be sure to check that the train you want to catch is served by this bus.
